There are many places where one can go to meet women online. There are online dating sites, social networking sites, forums, interest groups and so forth. How you approach your online presence can be a very pleasant experience or it could be your worst nightmare. How you handle yourself varies slightly depending on what arena you want to enter, but it all boils down to attitude and some common sense.  Here are the do’s and don’ts on how to meet women online .

Don’t lie.  This is the most common mistake both men and women make in online dating.  That’s right women do it also.  Be truthful about yourself in what you put in your profile and above all put a recent photo of yourself.  Don’t lie about your age or marital status.  Sooner or later you’re going to meet, and eventually the truth will come out. You are trying to establish a new relationship. Build that relationship on truth.

Be truthful about what you want and expect from the relationship.  If all you are looking for is sex then it is best to bring that out in the open early in your communications.  You don’t post it in your profile, unless of course if you’re a member of an adult site like Adult Friend Finder, then you can be more specific.  However, don’t be surprised if women bring this topic up first.

Don’t set your expectations up to high.  Don’t let a few extra pounds, a difference in age or their physical appearance be a rejection factor.  Of course there are limits, but who knows she might just be the woman of your dreams.

Don’t ask for a picture too soon, if one is not posted. It can imply to some women that you’re only interested in the physical and it could be a big turn off.  Again, women want to be seen for who they are.  Get to know them a little first and then politely ask for a picture.

Be very respectful of her feelings and the pace she sets in the communication process. Don’t push too hard.

Don’t make fun of or highlight the physical appearances other women you are seeing.  Better yet, don’t mention other women. The way you talk about other women may give the wrong impression.

At first provide just enough information to create interest. In the first stages of communication, don’t give out your phone number. For one thing it makes you look desperate and remember there are some crazy women out there.

Follow these do’s and don’ts on how to meet women online and you will be highly successful in your persuits.  The important thing to remember is to be confident in what you have to offer.  Know your boundaries and use your instincts and common sense.  Above all don’t let your hormones control your decisions.
